Editing a school timetable during the school year is very important:
-
This may be due to forming a new class because of the school gained many new students and a new class needs to get added to the timetable.
-
This may be due to students left the school and a class needs to be collapsed and needs to be taken off the timetable.
-
A teacher has left the school and a replacement teacher must be timetabled.
-
A time slot needs to get swapped with another time slot because a teacher can’t teach at certain times.
-
Days need to get swapped. Long weekends often eliminate Mondays and teachers complain of losing too many lessons. So a day swap might be needed to enable teachers to complete their courses without undue pressure.
-
Daily Organisation: Cover any changes to the daily timetable, teachers absent or rooms unavailable.
Can be done by another person as the timetabler. Often large schools nominate a daily organiser. This person can not change any aspects on the timetable and has a separate login.
All these changes can be done easily viewing a copy of the timetable.
